PGRession Open Symposia Series might be just for you!
PGRession Open Symposia Series, hosted by the University of Sussex’s interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal Excursions and the Work-in-PGRess team, is happy to announce funding for a limited series of PGR-led symposia for you to showcase your research!
Symposia are a collection of individual presentations centred around a single theme and hosted by a chair.
Organising a symposium provides an opportunity to present your research, demonstrates highly valued organisational experience, helps foster academic collaboration and, ultimately, looks great on your CV.
Expression of interest:
PGR researchers are invited to submit an informal expression of interest to put together a symposium based on a research topic of your choice.
Successful applicants will benefit from the promotional reach of the Excursions platforms, as well as the organisational support of the PGRession Open Symposia Series team.
There will also be the opportunity to develop your work for inclusion in a future issue of Excursions Journal.
To submit your expression of interest, please include the following in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Your name
- School of Study
- A brief outline of the theme for your symposium
- Applicants are also encouraged to include a shortlist of potential co-presenters, although this is not essential.
Expressions of interest should be submitted by Friday 28th April.
We recognise that presenting your research can be a stressful experience, so we aim to cultivate an informal approach to the series.
At the end of each symposium, there will be time for relaxed discussion (with tea and biscuits!) and an opportunity to network with PGRs from different schools.
A launch event with FREE LUNCH will be held on Friday 28th April, 1-2pm.
If you are interested in hearing more about the series come along to our launch event and talk with us informally over some free food!
Register your attendance by no later than Friday 14th April :
